I'm so disappointed I wish all novelty yarns were banned or just allowed to be bought by young children who would have and love fluffy things. Dont understand women who want a fluffy random dyed eyelash creation why???????????????This mag will never be bought by me again .I dont want to make a dress for barbie.

This is the reason so many people think of crochet as such a dated craft,it so hard trying to convince some knitters that you can achieve beautiful things with crochet when such awful patterns exist. I'd love to be involved with some uk magazine to increase the popularity of this beautiful craft.

  2. Hi Helda,

Many thanks for your kind comments on my blog. I totally agree about crochet patterns. There are some truly awful ones about. Most of the so-called modern patterns lack style and look very dated.

I'm actually a better and quicker crocheter than knitter and our home is full of crocheted items that we just take for granted. There's a large crocheted mat that lives under the lamp in the lounge. I washed it the other day and realised that I made it about 30 years ago and it's still going strong (and I don't even hand wash it, just stick it in the washing machine!).

I wish I lived nearer to London so I could join in your crochet group.
