Plastic bags coaster

In my bid to try and recycle things. I have been using alternatives to yarn. I have lots of the ribbon used to create bows around parcels, I'm not even sure what is called but florist use it to adorn bunches of flowers .They come in glorious range of colours .
If you are using carrier bags , I used his method http://www.nezumiworld.com/ to create yarn .Try and cut the bags into thinner stripes, ( I know that seems like loads of work, children become very handy) whatever you decide to use the instructions are the same


Waterproof crochet coasters.

Make 4ch. Join with ss in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1; work 8dc into ring.
Round 2; (1dc, inc in next dc) four times (12sts)
Round 3;(1dc, inc n next dc) 6 times (18sts)
Round 4;(1dc,inc in next dc) 9 times(27sts)
Round 5;(2dc,inc in next dc) nine times (36sts)
Round 6; 1ss into each dc, fasten off.

For a larger coaster continue increasing as above, The three coasters pictured have been made just by adding additional rows. I have made larger circles to serve as colourful placemats, heatproof, and waterproof.
