Everything but work

I am supposed to be working. I have a deadline on a pattern. I have tried all day to motivate myself to do it but I have failed. Instead of working I changed the sheets on my bed

Instead I opened the fridge and stuffed these tiny peppers with cheese and baked then with olive oil and dusted with a little paprika. I steamed artichokes and made a hollandaise. I nibbled my gorgeous squares of Turkish delight and a bowl of watermelon
I played with my new spiralizer, not with very good results. I cleaned the toilet and bathroom and unpacked the  dishwasher , hung up the washing. All this and it is still only 2.30, so I guess I should get back to work. What do you find yourself doing when you are avoiding work?

  1. I often find myself doing anything but work and you just reminded me that it's time to change my sheets! I'll be doing it soon. Thank you so much for your comment on my blog today. It was so heartfelt and it means a lot to me, I just wanted you to know. I'm glad my blog brings you happiness, it's the highest praise I can hope for.

  2. I find myself too often on the internet, browsing ..... (and I am telling myself 'I am looking for inspiration' :) as an excuse....)
Hope you found the energy to get some work done!

  3. I sit and look through Pinterest and Ravelry for crochet inspiration! Hours upon hours wasted instead of working. This morning I've baked a cake instead of working. I'm doing a little work while waiting for it to cool so I can frost it. :)

  4. I am blessed that my husband and I took early retirement so we are fortunate we can please ourselves how we fill our days.

  5. Oh yes, I can be a really good skiver off of work when I want, I sort out cupboards, move decorations, sniff the candles, all kinds of things! At least you were doing productive things!! xx

  6. Hi Helda! Thanks for your quick comment this afternoon when I did my post (I think now I know why, hehe!). Well, I find creativity is not something you can force, so it is probably best to use your creative energy in other ways temporarily like you did! The deadline won't go away, but at least you have given into the urge to 'do something'. I hope you managed to focus back on your work problem later!
Good luck with that in any case!

  7. Sitting and reading all of the new posts from the blogs I follow!
My first job of the day today is to mow the lawn - it's drizzling!
I could start something else - but I think I'll wait until the washing machine finishes, its only got another 15 minutes to go!
Basically, I'm having your yesterday morning here, today!

  11. Blog reading, that's my principle work avoidance strategy ;)

  12. What a coincidence, mine is cleaning the toilet. For some reason it seems preferable to having to think, and it has to be done anyway.
