Ellie Basket, Inside Crochet Issue 46

I'm so pleased with the styling of my latest pattern. I designed it as a crochet utility basket and this pictures show it off fabulously. I'm thrilled. As I mentioned in previous post the yarn is from New Lanark mills. The basket  is edged with a crochet cotton just to soften the edges. I think this is one of my favourite designs ,it is a practical item and as I crochet almost every day the most useful.

It is made very quickly and would make a great Christmas gift .I am going to make a few in different colours as two of my friends are having babies and I thought it would make a perfect baby utility bag. I will fill it with a couple of nappies, a few organic unbleached cotton handmade flannels, a jar or two of baby cream, etc .I think I will thread a nice piece of gingham ribbon around it for no other reason then I like it but I also think it will add to the 'cuteness'.

On a different note I'm still dehydrating. To date I have made mango leather, peaches, pears plums, pineapples, lychees, beetroot , sweet potato, parsnips, apricots, frozen berries, grapes ,raspberries , banana, kiwis. All have been successful except the frozen berries , I didn't like them at all. I'm going to try and  plaintain crisps, courgettes.
Have a lovely day.
